Las madres privadas de libertad deben recibir un trato humano, con respecto y dignidad. Se debe asegurar éstas tengan acceso a los servicios básicos de acuerdo con sus necesidades, sin discriminación.
Mothers deprived of their liberty must be treated humanely, with respect and dignity. They shall have access to basic services according to their needs without discrimination.

Yo soy Ana María Serrano, soy trabajadora. Me dedico a hacer de todo aquí, gracias a Dios. Tengo 7 hijos, en estos momentos ellos están bien; el primer día de clases estaban felices y contentos, y desde aquí yo lucho con ellos. Gracias a Dios están bien.
No los veo todos los días, las visitas son todos los 30 de cada mes y no siempre me los traen. Tengo 2 años que no los veo, pero sé que están bien con la abuela y todos están bien, gracias a Dios.
El futuro cuando salga de aquí, primero Dios, es trabajar y estar con ellos, estar en casa y ser feliz con ellos. Eso es lo que más deseo, salir de aquí y estar con ellos, reunirme con ellos y estar bien. Trabajar y ser una buena madre para ellos.

I am Ana María Serrano, I am a worker. I do everything here, thank God. I have 7 children, now they are well; the first day of school they were happy and content, and from here I fight with them. Thank God they are fine.
I don't see them every day, the visits are every 30th of the month and they don't always bring them to me. I haven't seen them for two years, but I know they are well with their grandmother and they are all well, thank God.
The future when I leave here, God first, is to work and be with them, to be at home and be happy with them. That's what I want most, to get out of here and be with them, to be reunited with them and be well. To work and be a good mother to them.
