En los últimos 160 años, madres voluntarias y trabajadoras son el activo del Movimiento Internacional de la Cruz Roja y la Media Luna Roja con su diligente compromiso y pasión por servir a la humanidad. Estas voluntarias y trabajadoras son las primeras en entrar y las últimas en salir de las comunidades afectadas por los conflictos armados, otras situaciones de violencia y crisis. Ellas trabajan estrechamente con estas comunidades afectadas para abordar sus necesidades, utilizando su experiencia para responder ante estas últimas, rápida y eficazmente, bajo los principios de humanidad, imparcialidad y neutralidad.
Over the last 160 years, mothers’ volunteers and workers are the asset of the Red Cross and Red Crescent International Movement with their diligent pledge and passion to serve humanity. These volunteers and workers are the first to enter and the last to leave affected communities by armed conflict, other situations of violence and crisis. They work closely with these affected communities to meet their needs, using their expertise to respond to the latter, quickly and effectively, under the principles of humanity, impartiality and neutrality.

Soy técnica en enfermería, próxima graduada en licenciatura en enfermería muy pronto. Tengo 1 hijo y aproximadamente 4 meses con la Cruz Roja Panameña en esta formación, la labor es muy bonita y para mí el acompañamiento de estas personas es muy bonita e inolvidable que me va a quedar para siempre.
Cruzrrojista y madre es un reto, no diría difícil, pero sí comprometedor en el tiempo y disminuye un poco el tiempo dedicado al hogar. Esto me equilibra mucho con el trabajo y la vida de mi hijo, entonces cuando llego a mi casa comparto con mi hijo, le ayudo con sus tareas ya que se encuentra en edad escolar y la otra parte la comparto con mi trabajo acá en la Cruz Roja.

I am a nursing technician, soon to graduate with a degree in nursing. I have 1 child and approximately 4 months with the Panamanian Red Cross in this training, the work is very nice and for me the accompaniment of these people is very nice and unforgettable that will stay with me forever.
Being a Red Cross worker and a mother is a challenge, I would not say difficult, but it is a time commitment and it reduces the time spent at home. This balances my work and my son's life, so when I get home I share with my son, I help him with his homework since he is of school age and the other part, I share with my work here at the Red Cross.
